Terms & Conditions

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you have entered is correct, including checking that it does not breach the individual redemption terms and conditions (as shown below) for the options you have selected. Because certain options require no upfront payment, successfully completing the checkout process should not necessarily be taken as confirmation of a valid order. Your booking is only valid if you attend on the date selected AND present your e-ticket, as well as any other passes/vouchers specified in the individual booking terms and conditions.

Disclaimer - Handling and Close Contact With Live Animals

Although Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre endeavours to mitigate risk as much as possible, all animals are inherently unpredictable even when acting under the instruction of a professional trainer. As such, all attendees taking part in any of our sessions involving live animals (including Experience Sessions, Event Nights and Flying Demonstrations), either as a Participant or Spectator, do so at their own risk.

You should be aware of the potential for injury to yourself or others when handling (or coming into close contact with) animals, including owls and birds of prey. To make your experience as enjoyable as possible, your falconer (or other session leader) will confirm that you are aware of these risks and provide the necessary instruction and supervision to ensure all animals are handled or observed in an appropriate, responsible and safe manner. Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre cannot be held responsible for any incident arising from a situation where these instructions have not been adequately adhered to. Guests are also responsible for the safety of any personal belongings whilst within the premises.

By placing a booking using this service, you agree that you recognise the risks involved and will accept personal responsibility for your own actions whilst taking part on your session.

General Terms (Applies to All Orders)

  1. All e-tickets and digital products generated by this booking system are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Resale of your e-ticket or digital products via any means, including in person or via a third party marketplace (reseller), is strictly forbidden. Additionally, you may not advertise for sale any of the products or services (i.e. e-tickets, bookings, adoptions) offered by this website via a third party marketplace (reseller); this includes any arrangements whereby the products or services advertised by the reseller are not currently in their possession and are purchased to demand on behalf of another individual. Any tickets purchased this way will be immediately void and we may seek damages or recompense for any profits made on the resale of these products or services.
  2. When placing an order - and where the order total is greater than zero - payment is required at the time of sale and in advance of the session's booking date. If an electronic payment fails; you select a checkout option that does not facilitate electronic payment; or you deliberately circumvent electronic payment, then we will contact you to request payment is made in full. Should payment not be made, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
  3. Reducing the amount payable (i.e. the order total) below the original stated value via any means will be considered a breach of our terms and we will request that the remaining balance is paid in full. This includes internal means such as coupon codes, as well as external manipulation of the website's integrity. If the original, non-discounted total is not paid in full, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
  4. All items offered via this website should be considered a service item for fulfilment purposes. No physical good(s) will be supplied even where a delivery address has been specified. Orders should be considered “delivered” at the time of purchase. You may not claim any recompense for non-delivery of any physical or material items (including via a payment or delivery company) as no such items are shipped as part of this transaction
  5. The purchaser accepts sole responsibility for ensuring that the e-mail address given at the point of sale is correct. We cannot accept any responsibility should your e-ticket and/or order confirmation be sent to an invalid email address, nor if it was delivered to a spam or junk folder and not retrieved by the recipient. Failure to present a valid e-ticket, as presented in the aforementioned e-mails, may result in your purchase being invalidated.
  6. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any amendments shall apply immediately and retrospectively to all currently outstanding e-ticket purchases. By making a purchase through this booking service, you agree to be bound by any amendments to these terms for all applicable orders. You will be notified of any relevant changes to these terms via the e-mail address specified at the time of booking.

General Admission Purchase Terms & Conditions

  1. You may use the General Admission Purchase option to purchase admissions for the admission bands below:
    • Adult: For persons aged 16-59
    • Child: For persons aged 3-15
    • Senior: For persons aged 60+
    • Under 3s: For persons aged 0-2
    • Student: For persons aged 16-23, with valid student ID
    • Family: For two "Adult" admissions and two "Child" admissions.
  2. This service cannot be used to book admissions using a pre-paid admission pass such as an Annual Pass or Adoption Pass. These can be redeemed in-person on the day of your visit. However, this service may be used to purchase admissions for those in your group that are not covered by a pre-paid pass or ticket.
  3. Your group may contain any combination of admission bands above, provided it contains at least one adult aged 16+. Note that your group may contain admissions purchased online using the General Admission Purchase option as well as in-person admissions on the day of your visit.
  4. The admission price bands described are subject to the correct application of visitor age brackets and presentation of relevant ID (where requested). On the day of your visit, if we are not entirely satisfied that the person(s) attending fall within the age bracket(s) selected, or do not provide the requested ID, we may apply a different price band and charge the additional cost as applicable.
  5. Purchases using the General Admission Purchase option entitles your group to general admission only and cannot be used in place of participant or spectator places for any Experience Session or other event. Participant and spectator places must be purchased separately using the Experience Session Booking options.
  6. Booking using the General Admission Purchase option is a means of pre-payment for general admission purchases. It should not be seen as a reservation or guarantee of any allocation of spaces as no such capacity limit exists on the number of tickets available. This includes the number of seats available in the flying display or any other talks or demonstrations, which will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
  7. You must bring your e-ticket with you on the date of your visit. Failure to do so will result in your booking being invalidated and you may be charged for admission.
  8. Once purchased, no refunds will be given should your booking date be missed, nor if any person or persons in your group fail to attend on the date booked.
  9. Once booked, a £10 administration charge will be applied for any amendments to the booking, including moving the booking to another date, cancelling the booking, or amending the number of admissions after the time of booking (except where paying for additional admission tickets). No such fees will apply in the event that we contact you regarding the cancellation of your booking.
  10. In the event that we are unable to accept admissions on the date agreed (for example, due to an unplanned closure), we will endeavour to reschedule the booking to a later time at no extra cost. Should this be necessary, you will be informed in writing (i.e via email). We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the booking in this manner up to and including the agreed date. Note that bookings will NOT generally be cancelled due to inclement weather and you will still be expected to attend unless informed otherwise.
  11. Your e-ticket is valid only for the number of persons stated on your e-ticket, up to and including the value of admissions that were purchased. If you attend with any persons not covered by either of these conditions, you may be charged for the difference.
  12. If we find your purchase to be in breach of our terms, including where abuse of the booking system is suspected, we reserve the right to cancel your booking. This includes cases where an order is successfully placed, but no electronic payment transfer has occurred at the time of sale (or it has failed) for orders with a value greater than zero.

Experience Session Booking Terms & Conditions

  1. These terms and conditions apply to all orders made for any of the sessions listed below. (Note that "Book Event" and "Redeem Voucher" are considered two products within the booking service, but they both correspond to the same session under these terms):
    • Owl Experience (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For up to 4 participants aged 14+ (spectators aged 14+)
    • Bird of Prey Experience (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For up to 4 participants aged 14+ (spectators aged 14+)
    • Junior Owl Experience (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For up to 4 participants aged 7 - 14 (spectators aged 14+ plus at least one spectator aged at least 16+)
    • Family Experience (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For 4-8 participants aged 7+ (plus at least one participant aged 16+)
    • Eagle & Vulture Experience (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For 1-2 participants aged 18+ (spectators aged 18+)
    • Photography Half-day (Book Event or Redeem Voucher) - For up to 6 participants aged 16+ (spectators aged 16+)
  2. All bookings using any of the above product options must be made via the booking calendar, which shows the current availability of each session. Note that if the user bypasses the booking calendar, this service will not function as intended and orders will not be able to be placed.
  3. Session availability (as shown on the booking calendar) may vary due to demand, meaning some sessions may run more frequently than others. We reserve the right to remove or amend availability of any listed session without prior notice.
  4. Only one session will run per day. Some dates may show multiple available sessions where no bookings have been made for that date. However, once one session has been booked, all other available sessions will be automatically withdrawn.
  5. You may only book participant places up to the maximum number available for the session type chosen. If you enter more participants than allowed, you will be prevented from completing the checkout process. Note that if you have entered a gift voucher number, any sessions with fewer available spaces than your voucher entitlement will not be shown.  In the event that an order is successfully placed with more participant places than the session type allows, your booking will be invalidated. There is no restriction on spectator places.
  6. When entering a gift voucher number, the user must ensure the number given is valid. If the voucher number is invalid, the booking calendar may not show any session availability, or you may be blocked from completing the checkout process. In the event that an order is successfully placed without a valid voucher number, your booking will be invalidated and you will be liable for the full cost of the session.
  7. Before placing a booking for any session (whether with or without a gift voucher), you must ensure that all participants and spectators meet the age requirements for the chosen session (as shown above). If any attendees do not meet the age requirements for the chosen session, they may be refused entry. The cost of the affected participant and/or spectator place(s) will not be refunded should this be the case.
  8. You must bring your e-ticket with you on the date of your visit and - where redeeming a gift voucher - your original gift voucher must also be presented. Failure to do so will result in your booking being invalidated and you may be charged in full for your session.
  9. Once purchased, no refunds will be given should your booking date be missed, nor if any person or persons in your group fail to attend on the date booked.
  10. Once booked, a £10 administration charge will be applied for any amendments to the booking, including moving the booking to another date, cancelling the booking, or amending the number of participants and/or spectators after the time of booking (except where paying for additional participant and/or spectator places). No such fees will apply in the event that we contact you regarding the cancellation of your session.
  11. In the event that we are unable to provide the session on the date agreed, we will endeavour to reschedule the session to a later time at no extra cost. Should this be necessary, you will be informed in writing (i.e via email). We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the session in this manner up until the session's agreed start time. Note that sessions will NOT generally be cancelled due to inclement weather and you will still be expected to attend unless informed otherwise.
  12. Your e-ticket is valid only for the number of persons stated on your e-ticket, up to and including the value of participant or spectator places that were purchased. If you attend with any person(s) not covered by either of these conditions, you may be charged for the difference.
  13. If we find your purchase to be in breach of our terms, including where abuse of the booking system is suspected, we reserve the right to cancel your booking. This includes cases where an order is successfully placed, but no electronic payment transfer has occurred at the time of sale (or it has failed) for orders with a value greater than zero.

e-Adoption Package Purchase Terms & Conditions

  1. e-Adoption Packages are provided in an electronic format, accessed as a digital download from the user's account. No physical good(s) will be supplied even where a delivery address has been specified. Orders should be considered “delivered” at the time of purchase. You may not claim any recompense for non-delivery of any physical or material items (including via a payment or delivery company) as no such items are shipped as part of this transaction.
  2. The purchaser is required to register an account with the BOWC Booking Portal in order to access any downloadable files. It is not possible to provide e-Adoption download files via any other method. The purchaser is therefore responsible for ensuring their files are downloaded via their account page to the device of their choice. Additionally, when purchasing an e-Adoption Package as a gift, it is also the purchaser's responsibility to ensure the digital download files are provided to the recipient.
  3. The user is responsible for ensuring they have the means to access the digital files, including the use of appropriate software and the necessary available digital storage capacity. This may mean the installation of third-party software such as Adobe Reader (for PDF documents.) We cannot accept responsibility for any eventuality resulting from the use or installation of third-party software.
  4. The "e-Adoption" is considered a symbolic sponsorship for a term of one year from the date of purchase, for which the selected animal will remain at Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre for the term of the adoption. In the event that the selected animal is transferred away from BOWC, dies, or is otherwise no longer housed at the collection, the sponsorship will continue as an "adoption in absence".
  5. An e-Adoption Package is only valid as part of a confirmed payment along with a corresponding order ID, as shown on your order confirmation, and only in the name of the person or entity specified at the time of purchase. Ownership of e-Adoption Package digital files, or printouts of those files, are therefore not proof of a valid e-Adoption Package purchase.
  6. All valid e-Adoption Package holders (based on the criteria above) will have their forename and first initial of their surname displayed on a dedicated section of the main BOWC website (www.BOWC.co.uk). Names will only be published once 12 concurrent e-Adoption Packages are valid simultaneously.
  7. The purchase of an e-Adoption Package is not a license for the use of the respective download files and the assets contained within. All e-Adoption Package download files remain the property of Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre and may not be edited, reproduced, remixed, redistributed (shared) or otherwise transformed without prior written approval from Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre, except for the personal use of the recipient only.
  8. Once purchased, e-Adoption Packages may not be refunded, either in part or in full, irrespective of the remaining length of the adoption term.
